My brother and I used to watch movies shown on TV during Sundays at 9pm. Sometime in mid-90s (I can't remember if it was '96 or '97), RPN 9 showed a movie entitled, "Heart and Souls." It was something we just watched because it seemed fun, and it was. It was my first time to see Robert Downey, Jr. act (and dance....and sing), and I was quickly smitten! This scene was one of my favorites, and from then on, I checked video houses to rent his movies, thanks to the information I gathered from a local magazine "Glitter," which I subscribed to during college.
Browsing magazines at Book Sale, I learned about his drug addiction and all that, but I still liked him - he really is a great, great actor, and I loved his portrayal of Charlie Chaplin in the movie "Chaplin." When he joined the Ally McBeal cast, I was overjoyed!
In 1998 2008 (whoops, sorry... I lost track of the years, lol), I celebrated my birthday watching his movie "Iron Man" at the cinema, and though he has a lot of films I haven't seen yet (believe it or not, I still haven't seen "Iron Man 2"), I know he will always be my most favorite actor. I sure hope I can watch all of his movies in the future...that is, if I can find DVD copies of it. :)
Other celebrities I love include: Music - Hanson, Robbie Williams, Dixie Chicks, Ingrid Michaelson, Brandi Carlile; Movies/TV - Leonardo DiCaprio, Claire Danes, Reese Witherspoon, Forest Whitaker, Kirsten Vangsness (she's my favorite in the TV show "Criminal Minds"), Tiffiny Hall (the Biggest Loser Australia), and Ellen Pompeo (Grey's Anatomy).
